Did you mean Carlsbad, California, or Carlsbad, New Mexico?

I really wish that you would describe a good restaurant in your own terms!
Is it a place on the corner offering reasonable meals for £300? Does it serve meat? Is it open on Sundays? Must you book in advance to avail of the full menu? Do they welcome toddlers? Vegetarians? Will it ruin your night if they do not have decaffeinated coffee?
If I say "Monika's on GrunStrasse", several people will then say "Oh, they don't welcome pets or children, are very expensive, don't serve kebabs, are located too far from the place I live, they have a pink door and the building is too new."
Could you think about what your budget is, and what you like about other restaurants, and then for heaven's sake look up
www.tripadvisor.com And, meanwhile, please consider telling your favourite restaurant what they are doing right!

If you want something a little different, go to Tip Top Meats--its a combination German restaurant and grocery store. Hearty (unhealthy) food, and you can buy an imported German beer in the store and drink it with dinner. Good sausage, saurkraut, schnitzel, etc. The store has good sausage, nice cuts of meat, and lots of imports that are tough to find elsewhere in San Diego.

Vigilucci's Italian in California. There are 2 of them. Plenty of Garlic, real Italian accents, interesting patrons.
