Cheese! Plain cheese. The tomato sauce, bread, and cheese is all you have. When those three basic elements are present and the pizza still tastes DARN good, then you know it is an excellent pizza. You don't need it weighed down with anything else.

I love neapolitan style pizza, flash cooked in a special wood burnign tile oven! The best is Punch Pizza in the Twin Cities.
I also like Papa Murphay's take and bake, especially the veggie delite with white sauce.

Tripoli pizza on the walk at Salisbury beach in Massachusetts.
In Vegas, Metro pizza is fantastic! Their Cheese pizza is awesome.
They also make a stuffed pie with everything (it weighs over 5 pounds) that rocks!

I agree with an earlier poster that said white pizza. That stuff is awesome. Also Pizza Margarita with fresh basil. MMMmmmm. Good stuff.

I know this is local, but Dominicks pizza in Raleigh/Cary is the best..especially for us NYers tired of chain pizza (papa johns, dominos) ever in NC check this place out..

Thin crust lasagne type pizza is my favourite.
It has the bolognese instead of just tomato base and lots of bubbling cheese on top.

California Pizza kitchen has some exotic pizzas, but my personal favorite is Papa John's....yum

Thin crust pizza with any topping or

The Worst:
Deep dish is like eating cake with chunky sauce

Panago!!! Their shrimp pesto pizza on a whole wheat crust is wicked good. Also, their BBQ chicken in a smoky tropical sauce is awesome!
