a white lie is when u let someone believe something that you know isnt true, because you think it really wont matter anyway. a lie is when you directly say something that you know is untrue

a white lie is basically a lie told so someone else is feeling good. Its like a lie with a reason behind it but you lie for the good and a lie is basically a bad thing you are hiding from the truth in some way and it harms perhaps not others but could be yourself. but no matter what both are still lies and shouldnt be always told.

A white lie is when you lie just a little so you dont hurt someones feelings and a regular lie usually involves deception.

Lies are still lies, in my book... We all do 'em occasionally, but that doesn't make them any better. I figure that it's better to have a 'white', or tiny, insignificant, or perhaps even kind than a full-blown lie, but it's still a lie. I mean, if a guy walks up to you, and he's got pizza sauce all over his face, you're just gonna sound stupid if you say 'why, sure ya look fine', you know? Just my two cents, though.

I'm no expert, but in my book, a little white lie is more like "You look pretty today!", when I'm having a rough time of it. As opposed to, "OMG! I LOVE that hairdo on you! Did you get your make-up professionally done? Those jeans TOTALLY make you look tiny!!!"
