I'm moving to Jackson at the end of the year because my ex-wife is moving thereon the tenth of thismonth and taking my 5 year old son with her. I've never even set foot in the state before. I probably will not be there before I move either to set things up so I'll have to do it all via remote. I was wondering if anybody could shoot me some info on places I can check out on the web and maybe places I could meet people online that live down there now so I could make some friends there before I move. Chat rooms etc.

You can prevent it by fileing a stay or injunction to prevent your son form leaving state.

Your the father and if you have joint custody then you can make it inposible for her to leave with child, but you have to do it NOW, RIGHT NOW, and show that your a father that care for child and wants to be part of it's life right where you live.

If you don't have money, then find it It's really that easy to stop this now.

Do you have to go? The weather down there sucks, and the people CAN NOT drive. Trust me, you will find that out. I was told that and laughed it off, until I had to travel on the same road as they did. Seriously, cant you file an injuction or something to stop her from taking your son there? I hope it works out for you. BTW...are you moving to Jackson, or Jackson County?

I've driven through Jackson. It's civilized looking. Freeways, strip malls, suburbs, etc.

I'm sure there are all kinds of things to do, so just find something that interests you, and do that, and you'll meet people. As far as the net goes, yahoo groups, match.com, etc. Same old drill everywhere you go.

Not so sure if you will like it there in Jackson. My mother-in-law and her husband moved out of there a few months back because it is too humid there and very hot. She didn't like it there, but you probably will. Differs with everyone, I guess.
