We have decided to stay at the movies resort but it looks like there is alot to see at all of the value resorts and other resorts. We are driving from Oklahoma and won't be going to the park the first day.
Also I read that you can't bring wagons. Why? Do they rent them? I have a 4 year old and I know he will get tired. I guess I could use a stroller if I have to but I don't think he will be too happy about that.

The All-Star Resorts are sort of close. Pop Century is further away. While you are staying at Disney, you can use the bus system, boats, or monorails to check out ALL the resorts. We stay at the value resorts, then go "visit" the other resorts and take photos!

You will not regret renting a stroller for your 4 year old. They are actually quite roomy and sturdy. You can always let him know that he doesn't have to stay in it ALL the time, but let him know it is there for him if he gets tired. We went when my son was 5 and didn't rent a stroller. All through the park the poor thing would complain, "Daddy, my legs are pooped!" My extended family went this past September and my niece rented a double stroller for her 2 girls, ages 4 & 7. Many times, even the 7 year old was grateful to be able to "ride" from one attraction to the next!

Also, we found it better to rent the stroller there, many people take their own, (I assume to save money) but they can be cumbersome, especially if you are taking the bus or monorails.

Have a great time!

The value resorts are relatively close to each other with the exceptionof pop century. However one thing that you might want to keep in mind is that besides some of the decorations on the building and stairwells they are pretty much identical and to be honest and not incredibly interesting. Once you've seen one you've kind of seen them all. I understand that you don't want to go to the parks on the first day but you can spend a lot of time checking out some of the other resorts like the Grand Floridian, Animal Kingdom lodge, yacht and beach club. Or even better, go over to downtown disney where you will find a ton of unique shops, restuarants, and activities that will keep you and your family entertained for at least a whole day. Another fun non-park activity is to try one of their mini-golf courses. Winter summerland is really fun and it's relatively close to the All-Star resorts.

There are 3 All Star Value Resorts-Music, Movies and Sports which are right next to each other and you can walk to each one and check out the different pools and decorations. Another value resort which is newer is Pop Century. That you have to drive to and is by itself. If you want to check out the other resorts there are bus systems which can take you to each resort. I am not sure about the wagon though, but you can rent strollers or buy a cheap one and throw it out when you are done with your trip.

All of the All Star Resorts are right next to each other. So you can enjoy the movies pool, or head on over to my personal favorite, the Calypso pool at All Star Music. My husband was a lifeguard at these resorts and would have to run from pool to pool each day. He loved working there!
You can bring your own stroller - you certainly don't have to rent one of theirs. I'm not sure about the wagon policy. I've never seen wagons on Disney property - just strollers. I can look into it if you like - just contact me at my email disneymickeyvacation@yahoo.com
