It doesn't always mean that they have stronger feelings. I call a few of my friends hun, or sweetie...but I do not like them in that matter. Sometimes I'm just in the mood to be more friendly.

men in the old west used to call another man "honey" or "sweety"..if you see hank hill on king of the hill ..one of hanks co workers does this ...but i digress..
i think its nothing and it depends on the person doing this and the situation...i can't see guys doing this as people are so anit-gay and homophobic..that anything that smacks of being gay is questioned. I am older and at a Nurse Aide demonstration i told a young guy to assume the position and he about flipped out and said..a lot of stuff but i could see it bothered him...this was used in the military..and he never was in the military..as to stand at attention..or whatever position that was expected like in exercise but..i think people are to damn uptight over just words...it happens in here all the time with all the nonsense of the violations of Yahoo..ennuff said

No, not necessarily.
My ex-mother-in-law used to call me a "pet" name...but that was because we had a real affection for each other. We cared about each other...we were actually friends. NO, there was never anything more than a "mother/daughter" relationship between us. But she was raised in the south where everyone who cares for their friends calls them by pet names.
It's just the culture, Sugar!

I say, "Darling" and "Suga" to everyone Honey! See I there I go with the pet names. It's just the way I am with people. Just a friendly person that's all. It doesn't always mean anything but I guess in your case I hope it does, Darling!

Yes, my friends and I do it all the time, we call each other hun, sweetie, dear, so on. It shows comfort with someone to call them that. It's a girl thing really ...

i am a married lady, I only use pet names like sweetie with other women, I avoid calling men these words so they don't get a mistaken idea, since I'm married.

No, I call my friends an assortment of endearing names (Love, Babe, Honey, Hun, etc. O.O). But I don't like them. Actually, if I like a girl, I'm probably less apt to use a petname because I would probably be afraid of her reaction. Er...that's just me though. ^^

"Sweety" is popular.
I say it too much and it is a bad habit when I say it way too often to customers.
They often get the wrong impression.
Me bad.....
