Get a gas can with a long nozzel. (usually stored under the cap). Put the nozzle in place on the gas can and the other end of the nozzle should be used to open the little trap door under the gas cap on the car. Be careful about this or you will have gas all over. Lift the gas can up, and poor in the gas. If your car is an older carburated model save a few drops to pour in the carburator. (take the top off the air filter and dribble just a little in) If your car is a newer fuel injected model. turn the key to ON (not START) Count to 10 while the fuel pump pumps gas up to the engine. Now turn the key to START and head to the nearest gas station.

2 answers, just get a gas can and fill it up and put it in your car. if your car is fuel injected you may be screwed. If your car is carbeurated then poor the gas in the tank and fill it up. then pour gas into the carbeurator. Pump the gas for about 2 minutes then try and turn it over.
Second answer. Most fuel pumps are in the front of the gas tank. Start your car and immediatly try and take off (because you dont have much gas to waste), but you will have to drive in reverse so the fuel flows to the fuel pump inside your gas tank. I had to drive half a mile backwards when I ran out of gas once. But be warned, if you run out while going backwards you more than likely just screwed up your fuel pump, injectors and carbeurator. Good luck.

I've heard that you can call a friend and have them A. Come to your home and give you gas (using one of the previous answers.) or B. Take you to a gas station and purchase a gas can as previously described (10 or so dollars just for a gas can not including the gas). I hope that this helps you.

Well, it happens to me once or twice in the life time of a car.
Get a GAS container (red color are very common)... go to the next available GAS station and fill your GAS container... They have a nozzle to feed the GAS to your thank once you get back to your car.

Joel, come on now Joel. Dont run out of gas because it sucks all of the dirt at the bottom of your tank into your fuel system and can clog your carb or fuel injectors.
Call you favorite tow company for help.

I'm with stars on this one, gotta go by foot and get some gas, unless you feel like pushing your car all the way there. It's too bad we aren't the Jetsons and can just briefcase our cars and walk them with us. Get a container and walk it out, man.

Quite easy to make homemade Ethanol if you just need a gallon to get you to the station. Get a large pot which can hold around a gallon of water. Bring it to a simmering boil and slowly add a 2lb bag of sugar , stirring and making sure it dissolves before adding any more. When it stops dissolving you have reached saturation point and need to add a bit more water to bring it just below that. You want a clear fluid. Poor this into your tank and you'll be good to go.
