There are political extremists on both sides of the spectrum. Whether it is ultra conservatives calling liberals "godless" (Ann Coultier) or a pious liberal calling our solders "stupid" (100% John Kerry); radicals exist in this democratic system whether we like it or not.
The questions is whether or not radicalism can produce results. I believe that it cannot. For example, many citizens want social security privatized. Now say some politican says that it should happen now and we should be able to control our future moneywise or something "terrible" will happen soon. So the government agrees with them and they change the law to make social security entirely private. With only theoretical evidence that this will succeed it is logical to say it is a very risky thing to do.
I believe that many people want rapid change in America. We should undergo "free trials" of new systems to ensure they are productive.
Any socialists, communists, fascists, or aristocrats who want to argue?

Interesting point you make. I'm not a radical anymore, but growing up in San Francisco I can assure you I know what the common motivation is for radical liberals. Many of the socialist and anarchist I know have one thing in common-They want social equality, they truly believe the U.S represents pure evil. The freedom we have today isn't freedom enough for them. All forms of government are designed to keep the wealthy wealthier and the poor starving. Government is seen as a system of oppression, my buddy told me once..."there is no government, like no government".. The anarchist I know honestly believe we can govern ourselves without the need of law and order. I honestly believe this is due to the way our public schools are. For example in my h.s 90% of my instructors were radical liberals, they would encourage students and applaud them when they refused to stand for the pledge of allegiance, every here and there we would get these teachers who took it to the next level and just blur ed complete lunatic liberal B.S!!Pushing their own opinions not facts into the classroom. But because the teacher said it, many students believe it and don't question it, it's just the way kids grow up and radicalism spreads.

I agree with you 100%. A perfect example of this happening was of the idea of mass producing "artificial coral reefs" all over the world. We threw in millions of old tires into our precious waters, and the rest of the world jumped on the bandwagon and did the same with millions more tires. The result- no coral reefs, but instead a major pollution issue. Now again our taxdollars will be going to Navy divers and Coast Guard to retrieve all this "pollution" that are washing up on our beautiful beaches. What a shame. These people come up with ideas that the next generation pays for. Sad but true. Being a radical gets us absolutely nowhere.

Well put too many people using wedge politics to beat up anyone who question the golden rule ( those with the gold make the rules) sometimes a radical statement can get people talking and that is a start. But talk radio and IN YOUR FACE pundits have thus far been too much in the muddle controlling the discourse. They scare me in their ability to control some peoples thoughts.
Hitler once said " the average citizen is more amendable to rhetoric than any other form of political discourse."

That's better, thank you.

As for your thinking on extremists, you're definitely right about there being extremes and then there's a popular view in the middle that neither extreme notices.

The problem is that the ones who speak the loudest are the ones farthest from the microphone (extremists) and so they're influencing Americans to the point that the political parties have been down right perverted.

your argument is sound logically from a skimmed view of the world.... But it truly boils down to what is the substance of money?... who deserves the majority of it?
this takes true conceptualization,,,, where did money come from and who puts the value on it?

The largest problem is not if programs will work but how do we enforce corporations and super wealthy to pay for it,,,, when they control the govt, which is supposed to help the majority, to aid the majority in living more comfortable lives..... when it fails to do this,,,, we are all stuck working like a slave for 8 bucks an hour for the corporations ,,,,,, the corporations make huge profits off the backs of the common worker and the common worker gets to barely survive for the service........ get the idea......

our govt is no longer working for us,,,, they work for them,,,,, that is the change we want,,,,,,,,

The right is the brainwashed that does'nt realize this, and the left is the side that wants the power brought back to the people....

Heck, I wanted to answer your question, but you have beat me to it.

"I BELEIVE THAT MANY PEOPLE WANT RAPID CHANGE IN AMERICA"

And, we should undergo "free trials" of new systems, Why?

If you have an idea to change our process create an initative and get it passed by the legislature and then the voters.

Any other "system" will be governed by a dictator or at the point of a gun.

Frankly, I prefer the voter idea. and I think there will always be a form of "social" security.

I'm all for test running things before committing. The scientific method is the best tool we have to do that today. The important thing is to try different things and see what works best.
