If a conservative Mormon can win the governorship in a liberal Catholic state is it improbable to think he could win the Presidency?

I have always been impressed with Romney. He made the Utah Olympics a huge success. His tenure as Governor has shown been one of positive progress. His Mormon Faith should be a non issue.

I think if people listen to him with an open mind, and look at his record and ability, then he could do very well. I could vote for him, but it's still a little early. From what I see he's a talented individual and has a great head on his shoulders. Can't wait for the debates and discussions to get going!

No, for me it has nothing to do with his religion. Mitt Romney cares about Mitt Romney and that's it. Less than three years ago he was pro-choice and gay friendly. Now he's done a 180 on both. It's unbelievable to me that conservatives who delighted in calling Kerry a flip-flopper could ever support this guy without going up in a hypocritical puff of smoke. And they call Hillary Clinton an opportunist...

I would no more vote for Mitt Romney for President, no more than I would vote for Tom Cruise for President. Both belong to cult religions. If a person can't be responsible to their own soul; why should I trust them with my well being, or to run the greatest country in the world?

liberal and Catholic arent anywhere alike.
Catholics are big supporters of tradition.

Tradition is "a long-established or inherited way of thinking or acting"

Liberals are "favorable to progress or reform, as in political or religious affairs."

liberals have an open mind... southerners do not...

have you ever heard a southerner talk about... well, anyone that wasn't part of their religion? (much less a mormon)

I personally think he's quite a bit better than Bush ever was... but, good luck sailing that ship in the south... unless Hillary gets the nomination... they hate her more than everything else...

I would, I prefer Guiliani over him as of now. Things may change though. I'd really like to see Newt Gingrich run though.
