Not a bonehead question. I was thrilled to find this capability when I read the manual. I have since changed my mind and have switched to flashdrives. Reason below.

I have a Dell desktop, and I'm assuming the laptop burner would work the same.

To save a data file onto a CD, and use the CD as a floppy, you must use CD/RWs and they must be formatted with the software that powers the burner before use. Check the User's Guide or help button.

These work fine on your computer, but you could not insert the CD into another computer unless you download a small 'reader' from the company that put out the software.

CD-RW is CD read/write. Just put a CD in the burner and drag the file to the CD in Windows Explorer. XP will burn the file to disk. It has built in burner software.

Office gives the option to export a power point persentiation to CD, this will sent any embeded sounds, Pix with it If you just burn the file then what you have linked is not going to work
