If your hair loss is due to pattern baldness, then it's genetics and there's not much you can do to stop it, but you can do a lot to slow it down.

Try a couple of things, first, change your diet so that you can enrich your hair. Start with vitamin C, vitamin B complex, zinc, and protein. Stay away from fatty foods.

Second, use a shampoo designed for nourishing scalps. Nioxin and Hairobics come to mind.

Try that for a year or so. If that's not enough, then look into Rogaine / minoxidil. Hope these helps.

There are a couple things that cause hair loss. The first thing that causes hair loss is a hormone called DHT. It attacks the root of the hair follicle causing it to die and fall out. This is where Propecia and Rogain come in. They stop the DHT from attacking the hair follicle preventing hair loss. There is also a new laser hair comb that was just approved by the FDA it acts like a stimulant to increase hair growth.(I am not sure how good it works)

The two other factors that cause hair loss is poor diet and exercise. A combination of these causes Hair loss.

If you are only having slight hair loss then I would suggest that you get on a good exercise and diet program and start using Rogaine.

If you are almost bald then i might want to consider a hair transplant.

There is some good information about it at www.hairlossspecialists.com. I hope that this helps.

You can try Rogaine or the new drugs they have, but once you start, you gotta take the stuff forever or it goes away quick. See your doctor, but health insurance may not cover it.

It is hereditary....sorry.
