If you want classic romantic, then you have to check out Jane Austin, I Highly recommend you start with Pride and Prejudice.

If your looking for modern fun, smut with great humor, and awesome sex, then Erin McCarthy has some great reads out there. she's very fun and quirky.

There is also the "Notebook" if you loved the movie, you will love the book.

If you want mystery and romance along with some encouragement, try Mary Kay Andrews, she has some light reads with a southern flair. Start with Savannah blues.

Enjoy!!!

Personally, I like everything by Nicholas Sparks. He is a great writer, his books are romantic and leave you thinking " If only someone like that REALLY existed". Plus, his books are romantic, but not smutty. But most of them have sad endings... I recommend A walk to Remember and The Notebook, but all of them are good.

I'd like to recommend Vikram Seth's "A Suitable Boy" I read last year during my summer holidays. Be not intimidated by its volume, a paperback with some 1300 pages. Before I decided to read it, I had read some literary reviews on it with some praises like a novel of distinction. So I started reading it and, surprisingly, I could go on and on since the author's style of narration and characterization is wonderful. I like its not too long chapters, please borrow one from a library or buy it, You would love it and understand more on Indian culture.
