Mercury is highly volatile even at moderately warm temps.
Are you familiar with the term "mad as a hatter" ?
They were insane because they worked with mercury in common room temps.
I do not know why your gold is in the mercury but be careful , or the ensuing insanity will not be curable with any amount of gold.
