While many of the answers are good and can provide some relief (ie:reducing caffeine and B complex vitamins) sometimes these twitches just won't stop. The medical term is blepharospasams. They can be controlled with Botox injections and this is covered by insurance because it is a medical condition and not cosmetic use of Botox. Unless you need the tranquilizers to deal with other stress in your life, I would avoid them to control the twitch in your eyelid. The twitch will not cause a major muscle to develop under your eye. The spasms will not do any eye damage, just annoy you like crazy.

I have the same thing. Cut down off caffeine, apply a warm compress to the eye - per the doctor I saw. I also take, and it does work,a homeopathic remedy by BORON called Physostigma Ven 6c. If you have a homeopathic pharmacy in your town they'll sell it. The doctor also thought I might need a stronger eye prescription which I declined. An eye twitch can occur if the eye is overworking. If none of the above work, have your eyes tested. Botox? Hope this information helps.

In the past I had a regular eye twitch and my hands would fall asleep at night even though I wasn't laying on them. I realized they went away when I was regularly drinking Calm which is a magnesium supplement. Magnesium relaxes the muscles and it is believed we are all pretty deficient in it. When I forget to take it after a couple of days, the twitching and hands falling asleep start to come back.

Oh my I dont know what doctor you are going to but geeze! The eye twitch is simple! Its like a nerve thing. Are or have you been stressed out? This is what causes it. It can aso be on your upper eyelid. Try taking a day off and relax a little.

Stress is indeed the number one reason for eyelid twitches. It can also happen if you are very tired. The only thing that you can really do, is try not to fixate on it (although I know that is hard)...
Hang in there, because no matter what you do or don't do, the twitch will eventually go away.

Stress can cause eye twitches. Usually eye twitches are harmless, but yours sounds more serious. Ask your doctor if you can get a diagnosis. Good luck!

You don't get a rainbow without rain, so I suggest you use two tooth picks for each eye, when you twitch the pointed ends will ***** your sockets causing you to stop, give it a go.
