A lot of you are so quick to say what was done wrong. Here's you a chance to tell us how you would have retaliated for the deaths of the American citzens on 9/11.

I would have everything the same except hit Iraq harder, killed looters on the spot and demanded that the Iraqi's demonstrate the will for law and order.

It is clear that the Iraq war and our increasing occupation of the Middle East has made our country unpopular with Muslims and much of the world. Retaliation is not the right word. We should not want to get even with the terrorists, rather bring them to justice and prevent such an event from ever occurring again. Osama Bin Laden was the leader of the attacks so our first task should have been to capture him and incapacitate al-Qaeda. Iraq was never the perpetrator to begin with however the accusation that they possessed weapons of mass destruction made people to forget about finding Bin Laden. Iraq was a big mistake and has made the world a more dangerous place for people living in, or near the Middle East. The U.S has not received any loss in Iraq besides the loss of American lives and the enormous deficit.
However, Iraqis live a very dangerous life in which no one is safe from being killed just by walking in the street. I think Americans need to imagine what it would be like to have no protection from our government and have an urban civil war going on in our cities and in our own backyards. Can any American imagine watching the news to see that 50 people who murdered and their bullet riddled bodies were dumped on the street! It would be evil and we would demand justice, yet this happens every day in Iraq and few in our country care to speak up.

That's an easy question to answer, by actually going after the guys behind it, 15 of the 18 terrorists were Saudi citizens, the only planes allowed to fly after 9/11 were going back to Saudi Arabia, the terrorists were part of an organization based in Afghanistan. There were absolutely NO links to Iraq, the 9/11 commission confirmed this once again, the report is available on the web. We could have questioned the Saudis, and made more of an effort in Afghanistan instead of letting things slide over there.

I would have investigated the boards of directors of all the companies doing business in all seven of the buildings that fell on 9/11. I would have treated the crime as if it was the biggest insurance scam of all time, and tried to find out who had the most to lose if those towers held a few thousand "Enron"'s that were about to go bankrupt.

It's pretty obvious a plane wasn't what hit the pentagon, and equally obvious the hijackers living and training in Germany is a connection to the EU. The EU had the most to gain by economic damage to the United States, so if my investigation on the Domestic Scam theory didn't pan out I would look for country's with ballistic missile capability to surface off the coast, pop the pentagon, and beat a hasty retreat as my main suspects. Germany had a pretty good sub fleet during WWII, you think they have any now? France? Russia? Or the EU as a whole, would NATO have non-U.S. related capability?

I think Bush attempting to take over the worlds oil supply is a great way to counter act the EU's economic attack on the U.S. economy, but very risky. If Bush fails, the U.S. fails with him. He should identify the corporate structures fronting for the EU and attack them, unfortunately the Bush family may be part of the problem.

Luckily, the blogbaba gives all that mess to God, and lets God deal with it. Some things are beyond us, and this is one of them.

We should have remained focused on Afghanistan and had some damn serious dialogue with the Saudis about why the majority of the terrorists were from their country. Our focus should have stayed with Al Queda and the countries that harbor them, instead of putting that in the backseat to attack a country our President was obsessed with from the first day in office and that had nothing to do with 9/11.

Perform investigations like why the Air Command was ordered to stand down on 9/11.

If the conclusion was a sick US exercise gone wrong, fire those responsible and impeach Bush and Cheney for gross incompetence (unless they resigned first).

If a foreign country was responsible, attack that country, but not launch an undeclared war against Afghanistan or Iraq almost 2 years later.

Pull out all ground troops and let the Air Force put some miles on all those nice bombers we have. Use the bombs according to expiration dates. I bet those towel heads love the sound of a bomb whistling

I just hope I could have handled it half as well as President Bush did. He thought through things quickly and made decisive decisions true to his convictions of what was best for the country. He is a noble man who does not deserve the crude and inappropriate comments that have been thrown at him.

Lauched an immediate full fledged investigation into the complicity of the Bush administration/government. You are fooling yourself if you think 9/11 was not preventable.

Retaliation? Give it a rest. YOUR GOVERNMENT attacked it's own land and citizens - with the assistance of Bush's pals in Saudi Arabia. Deal with it. Why? To advance U.S. hegemony. Look it up, learn a new word.

:)

First off, I would have declared war officially against all terrorists and the nations that harbor them. A President with war-time powers would not have to put up with foolish bickering which is detrimental to our cause. I would have put all muslims into internment camps. Hey Roosevelt did it with the Japanese, who were far less dangerous. Then I would lock up any liberal dunce that spouted off ridiculous conspiracy theories. Following these necessary actions, the war would be won quickly and then the leftist loons would be released.

I would have acted like I was moving about twenty nuclear weapons to Kuwait and Israel and accidentally fired them at Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran and Syria. Apologized to the UN and dare them to bring sanctions on me like the rest of the world has.
