I have a wireless network and I can use the printer wirelessly from my laptop. I can also use folder options and enable file sharing. BUT the problem is that the shared folders only show up when I share it from my desktop (network host) When I share a folder on the laptop it does not show on the desktop. Any ideas why and how to fix this?

you will have to configure your firewall to allow filesharing. Also make sure your workgroup is set to the same name on both computers.

Let's back from the basic's of networking first,
You must meet the following:
1.IP address must be in the same range as well as Subnet mask & Gateway .(it is not a problem if you have a router with DCHP Server)example
PC1 PC2
IP Address 192.168.0.10 192.168.0.11
Subnet 255.255.255.0 255.255.255.0
Gateway 192.168.0.1 192.168.0.1

2. Work group or Domain Name must be desame
3. Firewalls you have to open a Specific Port assignment
