I am writing a seven page essay how I am against same sex couples adopting but then on the other hand I am for same sex couples getting married. So I need help on the paper and i wanna hear your guys opions on the topic that would be great thanks

I'd be interested to find out why you feel as you do. For most people, it'd be an interesting combination to support gay marriage but not gay adoption. Perhaps you can enlighten us?

Anyhow, I'm for both gay marriage and gay adoption. I'm pro-gay adoption for one vital reason:

1) The ONLY thing that should keep someone from being able to adopt is if they can't provide a good, safe, loving home for the child.

Can gays and lesbians do that? Certainly! If you can cite me some examples to the otherwise, I'll of course consider them, but I doubt anyone can prove that children raised by gay or lesbian parents are any different or have had worse or better experiences across the average.

That's what I think. I doubt you'll find much difference from that on this site; maybe you should seek out a site that is implicitly against same-sex adoption.

Well . . . good luck on your paper, I suppose. You'll get a good grade if you argue logically, but I fail to see where a logical argument against same-sex adoption exists.

Why are people against same sex couple adopting. A child can be brought up in a loving relationship!
1. Having two same sex parents will not confuse the child sexuality because your sexuality is decided before you are born.
2. Look at the way some children are brought up by straight couples / single parents. Bad education, neglect, even abuse!
3. A child may be teased but is this not down to the parents and education department? What about children from other races, are they not teased for being different?
4. What about couples who cant have children and adopt, should they not be allowed to adopt because they cant conceive naturally?
It all comes down to people who can't accept the lesbian and gay community. This is pure discrimination and needs to be stopped! If this matter was about race or colour then they would be uproar, why should we not have the same rights!

there is absolutley nothing wrong with gay couples adopting. Whether a child has a mom, a dad, a mom and dad, two moms, or two dads, a child needs parents! It shouldn't matter if the parents are the same sex. All that does matter is that the child is taken care and they all love one another. yes, the child might get made fun of but that doesn't mean that he/she is going to be unhappy or be resentful. the child will love his/her parents no matter what. Besides, all children get made fun of. It's life.
gay people are human beings and they want and deserve to have a family.

whats wrong with gay ppl adopting kids? :S

Anyhow. try to be exaggerative, like...if kids see their dads kissing 2gether they might observe and copy, and going to school kissing other boys. THat might get him into being bashed up and ganged upon.

tho, this reason is stupid...because the problem can be fixed if the parents are strong and supportive, they will only develope the child's charisma and strength (to be himself no matter whats the situation, and also to teach him "beauty is skin deep").

Anyhow, your topic is contradictory. i wouldn't have chosen it in the first place, its very discriminating and homophobic. learn to be more open minded.

same sex couples must have fun explaining to their kids where babies come from:

i disagree with your opinion but will still offer some advice.

religious beliefs seems to be the strongest reason/rejection that same sex couples face when trying to adopt. so you might want to make it a religion/bible kind of paper.
