Sir ignorance is bliss; and darkness prevents our weakness from being revealed. Hypothetically speaking, if you could shed light on the subject; with proof beyond rebuttal, there would be those who would cry foul. There is no other explanation for unintelligent, lack of interest, and dispassionate stance on our voters, elected officials, and our willingness to have them to answer to our needs.

You are preaching to the choir here, but I honestly don't know what the answer is.
All we can do is keep speaking out, and hoping that somehow, the truth will come out. They call us conspiracy theorists and Kooks, but there are a lot of highly reputable people who are fighting for the truth to come out, and they speak out on web links and so forth. The problem is that only the enlightened are willing to even look at these links, and most of them are already convinced. It is good, though, because it gives us ammunition and helps us in our attempts to establish credibility for our views, and maybe that helps wake some people up!
It is a slow process, but I think we are making progress. The truth of 9/11 and the truth of the Iraqi war, are so connected to each other, that it is basically the same issue.
I have said before, and I will say again, if you want to know the real truth about anything that happens in this world, follow the money.
If you can determine who stands to benefit the most, financially, you can determine who is most likely to be responsible!

So you're here to preach?
Go somewhere else, like a forum or political discussion board. This is for serious questions, not statements from people on a soap box.
And I'm not a sheep. I think for myself and I don't appreciate you telling me what I am.
{edit}
By the way, if anyone cares I'm NOT a Bush supporter. I'm also not a fan of questions like these. A disgrace to serious debaters everywhere.

The problem isn't the leadership. The problem is the American people have become comatosed by the News and reality TV to the point that we no longer hold political leaders accountable. So, instead of the people arising to do something, we simply complain online. Californians impeached their governor and elected Schwarzenegger. It is possible to elect a leader who the American people feel is doing the right thing but you have to get them to do it. So, to answer your question they will do absolutely NOTHING.

Lot's of good civic works projects you suggested.
I have one more you forgot to mention...filling in the hole at ground zero and paying the costs of the loss of over 3,000 innocent civilian lives.
Oh, I almost forgot...you think the government perpetrated 9/11, right?
You know what?... I bet you hate those whom you think caused this as much as I do (but only one of us is right). Wanna put it to a vote?

The war has nothing to do with money. The war has nothing to do with oil. The war has everything to do with deposing a despot who allowed 500,000 of his people die and killed 10's of thousands himself. Now the war is a full blown part of the GWOT.

The vast majority of Americans believe it might possibly have something to do with murder of almost 3000 innocent people on 9/11 - however, it seems you have the real inside scoop.
It must be lonely to be this enlightened.

JUST LOOK AT THE PICTURES
http://www.wirednewyork.com/wtc/wtc_map.htm
Notice how building 6 stands between building 1 and building 7, notice how building 7 is in between the verizon building and the federal building.
http://www.greatbuildings.com/cgi-bin/gbi.cgi/World_Trade_Center.html/cid_manhattan_pan_si_01-clo.jpg
notice the distance between the buildings.
http://www.greatbuildings.com/cgi-bin/gbi.cgi/World_Trade_Center.html/cid_wtc0915_1280-clo.jpg
notice the damage to building 6, the crater type hole in the middle of building 6. yet it is not completly collapsed. There is very little damage to either the verizon building or the federal building. but right in between those buildings building 7 is completed collapsed! and the building that was in between it and the world trade center tower building has not completly collapsed?
http://www.greatbuildings.com/cgi-bin/gbi.cgi/World_Trade_Center.html/cid_manhattan_before_si_01-clo.jpg
Are you really going to believe that the damage done to building7 caused a complete collapse. and not a complete collapse to building 6?
If seeing is believing here are the best pictures to see for yourself please look at them. be honest with yourself. and answer the question how is that possible?
So the offical story is, if you can believe it - that the building directly beside the WTC tower DOES NOT completely collapse. but the building on the OTHER SIDE OF BUILDING 6 DOES COMPLETELY COLLAPSE?

I'm more ready to believe 10mm's answer than yours. Every war deals with money, but this war isn't all about money. Either direction we went (going to war or staying out of it) would have been linked to money; staying out of it would have helped our military situations and economy and going to war would have helped our economy is other ways.
But seriously, all about money? I think not.
