I want to know what the best career would be for me with an English major. I want to have a high-paying job and be involved in the competitive field. Any ideas?

Teaching English and/or Comparative Lit are two obvious options. I was an English Major and I started teaching. As most people know, teaching is not considered a high-paying job. Some people went into the publishing/editing industry. A few have gone into entertainment. If you want security, look at education. If you want big bucks and high competition, aim for the entertainment industry. Unfortunately, the latter will leave you with some lean years before you hit it big.

May I suggest you take a career assessment test. you can take these for free on line.

Also with a English major you have a lot of options. Did you know that one third of entering medical students are English majors.

And since you be a English major i have to say bestest of luck.
