I've got a friend who always drags his feet when I ask for small favors such as if he can proof read my paper. Now he wants me to help him get a job now that I am better connected. Would you still help him?

Right now I feel like - if he can't do a small favor for me than why should I stick my neck out for him. It seems he'll only help if he sees that there's something in it for him.

he's a friend you need to put in the trade favors category. next time he's needs one remind him. if he says "no" you really don't need him anyway he's A loser.

Help him out, that's what good friends do. Next time you need a favour from him, just remind him of this and that should get his feet moving.

I wouldn't even keep them for a friend.
