Go to your closest law library (county or university) and make an appointment with a reference librarian. Almost all law libraries have staff that will help you research legal issues, and they are pros at it. Your tax dollars pay their salary, might as well take advantage of it.

First of all , what are you researching ?
Family Law ? Most states have a website to look up state codes and statutes. Once you have an ideal wahr you need ..the rest falls into place.
