Have you heard people use the phrase ''I don't give a care''? It sounds like something Ned Flanders from The Simpsons would say.
I'd give it 7 out of 10 for being very irritating and grammatically incorrect. Do you think its annoying?

Cliffordex: you've never heard anyone say it? Consider yourself lucky, my friend.
To be fair, I only ever heard that saying used when I was living in the States, never in England Probably because if someone went around saying that here, they'd be bottled by hoodies within 5 minutes.

Monchicha, dear, it is 5am here and I'm a very, VERY bored insomniac. If you want to take a question like this seriously, despite the fact that it is obviously meant to be a bit of trivial nonsense, that's not my problem. I can't believe you wasted a post on this either, but as you got 2 points for it, you really ought to quit moaning.

Blimey, some of you are tetchy. Do you really think this is a serious question?!!?

Thanks, silly_fud... although I'm not a bloke so don't think I can be 'sir'! I'm glad someone can still see straight. It's amazing the way people throw their toys out of the pram for absolutely nothing at all.

"why be annoyed over words?" Try and remember that next time someone calls you a name, you won't feel so lofty then.
Okay, I'm closing this question now, as it has been turned from a lighthearted and obvious JOKEY post into a lot of miserable rot for no reason at all. Sheesh. Lighten up, people, this is Yahoo! Answers, not rocket science.
Thanks for joining in!

It's annoying as all get out, but it's actually a metaphor for:
I don't give a rat's patootie ( only it's not patootie )
Or I don't give a **** ( hint - 4 letter word starting with f )
or I don't give a _ _ _ _ _ _ _ ( insert expletive of choice)
It's irritating, and grammatically incorrect, but so are the original phrases .... and "I don't give a care" is at least "politically correct" and can be used in front of your mother.
I give it an 8.
btw silly_fud .... I hate to tell you, but it's crossed the waters, and is alive and well in parts of Victoria. If I hear one more teenager in Werribee say " I don't give a care", I'm gonna be as bald as my old man !!

Just to say it hasn't hit Australia yet either, but if and when it does I will be hitting it right back.
And aren't they, as you say, sir, a tetchy bunch? I don't understand where all this anger comes from and why so many seem to take things so terribly seriously, especially when they are admonishing you for taking a small thing to heart (whether you are or not). We all know America as a nation had an irony by-pass many years ago, but what's up everyone else's cloaca? Lorks alive, I'd worry for today's youth if I didn't know some of the oldth weren't just as much to blame...
Oh, and about 15 out of 10 for all of the above.

Don't close it simply because some do not understand good wit when they see it!!
It it funny enough to say I do give a care, whatever American meaning that may indicate. It is prolly an upscale way of saying don't give a sheep, sheet, or something else that starts with an sh and ends with a t!

I've heard it used--but rarely. Flanders is funny, and some of his expressions go right along with this one. At least, hopefully, no one can say that it is offensive to them. LOL - 5

7/10 just to answer but don't think it's infected the UK yet but who knows it'll probably turn up if it becomes popular in the US!

That is pretty annoying. Though, not as bad as "So don't I." I guess I'd give it a 6.
