I'm looking for something that has a pretty good safety rating, good handling, larger than a Civic and costs under $20,000. It doesn't have to be brand new; It should be younger than 4 years. Any suggestions?

Ford Focus or Chevrolet Prizm. Good ratings in the crash tests, economical and they both get good gas mileage. I have a Prizm and it is a very good car.
