If their avatar is scowling, are you more inclined to give a negative response?
What about their user name? Does that sometimes influence your response?
If so, how?

Not the avatar, and rarely the name. But, I am influenced by their ability to use punctuation correctly (as well as spelling and grammar.)

I base my answer on the question and nothing else. I love giving people information on something they may need input on, something they may be curious about, and just to help them. I never give negative responses and I personally don't care what their user name is; these things never influences my responses.

Yes, I'm sure it has. I think we're all very responsive to the human face, and an angry or sad face could give a negative impression even if we weren't aware of it.

And as for the names...some of the more obnoxious ones have immediately turned me off.

I don't know if I could stop being affected.
