I am a west coast gal traveling to "tornato alley" next month. I will be staying in hotels. Do hotels have tornato shelters? Does regular local radio broadcast tornato info or are there special stations?

I don't think you need to worry too much about tornados.
I have travelled right across the states several times and have yet to see one.
You would be highly unlikely to see one also.

I don't think motels or hotels have a tornado shelter.
You could always ask when you check in what plans they have in place.
You will have plenty of warning however, every (regular) radio and television station will broadcast alarms.
Wherever you are the locals will know where the shelters are and what to do in any emergency situation.
Don't be alarmed and worry over something that probably wont happen.
Relax and enjoy your trip.

You sound like a worry wort who does not know too much. I do not know about hotels and shelters, however if there is a tornado you will know about it in advance because it will be broadcast on everything and there will be warning sirens. There is a good chance that there are some sort of shelters inside of hotels or rooms that act as shelters. Oh and by the way tornaTo is incorrect and when typed looks like toMato. There are no tomato shelters in the midwest.

Tornado? Usually the basement of most buildings can be used as a shelter. Radio stations will broadcast emergency weather notices, most towns have tornado sirens that sound in the event of an emergency. You can buy a little AM/FM radio that has a weather channel. You should be OK. But don't worry a tornado only has winds of 400 miles per hour.

Tornado...tornato...tomato...I get what you mean. Some might have basements...if not, just act like you're in an earthquake. Stay away from outside walls...go into a hallway or bathroom..stay away from windows...get under something sturdy...wait until it's over. Listen for news on the radio. Nothing to get worried about.
