The folks who grew up without the computer & had to rely on good ol' books for distraction are better spellers than those who grew up with the comp. My kids are not great spellers but I dont blame them as they are the products of their generation.
So go ahead & use spell check. Its technology freeing your mind for more creative activity.

I actually did go to the state spelling bee when I was in the fourth grade, but I still spell things correctly without spell check. Grammar check, however, has ruined my life- not because I depend upon it, but because it is nearly always incorrect.

it has saved my life a number of times but i think I'll be hating it come the end of year with my English exam!! It definitely puts you in a bad habit
