Good question! because it needs air to set?

Most glues set as a result of a chemical bonding between them and the surfaces of the materials they are being used to join, combined with the evaporation of the solute, (water, in water based glues; alcohol, in spirit based glues etc.) DIfferent glues are used to bond different materials.therefore are contained in tubes made from substances they won't react and bond with.So called super glues will not set unless they are deprived of air, which is why after use you should tap the base of the tube on a level surface to knock the glue down to the bottom to leave an air gap before replacing the lid,and then stand the tube upright. If you don't, you may well come back to a tube of rock hard glue next time you need to use it.
Finally, the strongest of all glues,(composite epoxy resins) ,which are used widely in industry-so strong in fact they are actually used for gluing the wings onto aeroplanes, because they form a stronger bond than nuts and bolts, are only ever stored as two different chemical compounds in separate containers, and only mixed together immediately before they are used.

1.most containers have teflon coating.
2.the glue has to react with oxygen to harden.
if the cap is off it would stick to the tube

There is a small anti-gravity field inside the tude that stops the glue coming into contract with the sides. Why do you think it costs so much!

Because there is no air inside the tube.

It needs to dry to bond and that ain't happening in that tube.

it does if you leave the cap off but if you put the cap on it has no time to react with oxygen because its getting no oxygen and locked in moisture therefore it doesn't dry out
