Me and my husband divorced in 2005. He wanted full custody, and I was dumb and agreed. I have unlimited visitation. He has made is nearly impossible to see my daughter. He threatens me whenever I try to have contact with her and I am outright scared of him. So I was just wondering how do I go through the courts to have visitation rights enforced? I dont have alot of money, so I was wondering if there were places that could help low income people.

Contact the court house or the local bar association for low cost or no cost (depending on your income) representation. You need to modify custody and parenting time right away. You need to document everything that has happened so that you can show a judge what you have tried to do and how he has behaved. It is very difficult to enforce something like "unlimited visitation." It is much easier to enforce "every weekend from Friday 6 pm to Sunday 6 pm and Wednesday from 8 am to 8 pm" - this a police officer or judge can easily understand and enforce.

Good luck.

If you are afraid of him, your daughter might be afraid as well. I always felt as if little girls should be with their Mothers. Talk to the Pastor at your Church, or a close Family Member to assist you in formalizing a plan to get your daughter back.

Don't worry too much now about how you will take care of her.

You have already made a good start by asking for advice.

God Bless you.

You can get police escort to enforce visitation right. You follow the schedule, call ahead, and if he refuses, show up with the police.

Many young attorneys will work "PRO BONO" (free) so they can hone their legal skills.

Contact your local social services office for more details.
