Its defiantly a mixture of both...
some people are naturally talented and don't' ever really need to work at it but others arent so lucky and really need to put in effort... anyone can be a good dancer though as long as your willing to to work hard and have a good attitude
modern dance is a lot of core work and the movements will seem very alien at first but over time youll start to get it....
good luck:)

You just have to do the following:
1. Have confidence
2. Try hard
3. PRACTICE!!!
Anyone can be a dancer if they practice and try and take constructive criticism and use it to become better. I am positve you will be able to be a modern dancer. When I first started dancing, I thought, Heck no! I cant do that! But then I practiced and worked hard to stay fit and be good at everything I did, and I proved my spot! I now compete, maybe you can do the same! Good luck and I hope everything works out wonderfully! Have fun dancing your heart out! Oh and by the way, if your heart and soul aren't into dancing, it isnt for you, you need to feel the music and the rythyms and it will come naturally! Good luck and God bless you!

Its a little bit of both. It takes self confidence and practice and talent and patience. Its not like your going to walk into a studio and be like the best dancer there. It just doesnt work that way. Always remember every dancer is slightly different. We all learn in different ways and we all grow and show feeling and different ways. Maybe if you take a class and not like the outcome then you can quit. BUT! ( and this might sound really corny sorry ahead of time!) If you really want to be a dancer all you've got to do is have a little bit of determination. AND NEVER EVER give UP! Then you'll make it. Its all about your will power and the confidence that you have in yourself to make it to where you want to be,
may God bless you and your dancing

All forms of dance are based on basic technique. If you think you would enjoy modern dance, enroll in a beginning class. They offer them at most community colleges for reasonable prices. Doing anything really well takes a lot of practice, but just as some people are good basketball players or football players, there are some people who just have the capability to dance very well. Good luck

I would say it's a mixture of both natural talent and hard work. Clearly someone who has natural talent can't just up and start dancing and be brilliant from the begining, they have to work towards it. Does it matter if you are not the est in the class anway? If you want to start it then start it. Things may seem a bit difficult at first but you will get used to them over time.

You can learn to be a good dancer. It is easier if you have rhythm, but it is definitely possible to learn, it is just a lot harder without rhythm.
