In short, lots of ways!

1) Financial Responsibility

This is a major problem in Western societies in my opinion. Getting into trouble financially is very easy nowadays. This is due in part to the ease today of spending money and the wide availability of credit products.

If you aren't careful in being responsible with money, you can have major problems in the future.

2) Know the best way to allocate money

Learning about interest rates and other financial concepts will help you make informed decisions when paying credit cards, saving, etc.

3) It's fun

I am into finance/accounting, so I am biased with this point.

I hope that was helpful.

Of course the answer depends on your perception of future life. If you believe, as I do, that we will continue to be a society based on some sort of monetary system of trade, financial management will be key to successfully navigating through life. On the other hand, if you are planning a survival of the fittest society where you acquire goods and services by brute force, Tae Kwan Do may be a better subject of study.
