How do you paste a picture (be it gif, jpeg, ) directly into the text of an e-mail (using the yahoo.com service)?
Or better, how do you make the picture appear in the e-mail without having the receiver to download the picture-attachement?

It's not gonna happen. You have to attach the picture.

If you're using the original Yahoo! Mail, I suggest you use Yahoo! PhotoMail. If you're using Yahoo! Mail Beta, you can easily switch back to original Yahoo! Mail to send pictures and then switch back if you want. It's very easy to switch back and forth. Yahoo! PhotoMail is not available in Yahoo! Mail Beta yet, but in original Yahoo! Mail click Insert Photos above the compose window, that is where PhotoMail Quick Select Tool is located after you download and install it.

A one-time (per PC) installation is required in order to send PhotoMail. To send a PhotoMail you must be composing in color and graphics rather than plain text. You must also have a international language setting that allows PhotoMail. Click the link below and click Get Started to install the Quick Select Tool.
