what do i do -- i want to stay, but im not happy....
if i end it and try and be friends, everything will be akward

If you are not happy you should leave and if you are truly friends then it will all work out in time.

some lines should never be cross and that was the friendship line every thing you guys had is gone things will never be the same.it is once in a life time when you can have a relationship with a best friend and it will be the same it is going to be different if you guys do not work it out and break up it is not going to be the same

why do you want to stay. you didn't say you loved him, no mention of a future togther and you're not happy. so leave.
