pollen grains are present in the flowers of plants to cause pollination. this pollination are of two types-- self pollination and cross pollination.in self pollination the pollens fall on the stigma of the same flower which is female part of flower causing fertilization. where as in cross pollination the pollens are carried to different flowers to cause fertilization with the ovum of other flowers. these cross pollination are caused by eithr wind,or by the insects.

In the process of reproduction as due to pollen grains the processes of pollination and fertilization occurs.
pollen grains are male gametes of the flowering plants.
pollen grains fertilize with the ovaries and seed is produced which contains a new embryo which further develops into a new seedling.
