I can't pick an absolute best, but a few of my favorites are The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith, The Chosen by Chaim Potok, and The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver.

One that interests you.
For me, I have just discovered Tim Dorsey's books. They are a riot. His over the top character Surge A. Storms is insane enough to infect everybody. "Cadilac Beach" is a good read, especially Surge's letter to President George W. Bush.

"false memory" by dean koontz
i like psychological books that put you on the edge of your seat wondering if there is something behind you or true crime because it is cool to know how they caught the person commiting crimes i also like historical pieces about soldiers or warfare
