The Americans who play in the EPL get alot of hype here in the states, and i wondered how they really measure up against the europeans in the league. The Americans I know of in the EPL are Hahnemann, Freidel, Demerit, Beasley, Onyewu, Convey, Reyna (is he still with man city?), Dempsey, and McBride. The only one of those ive ever seen do anything impressive are hahnemann, freidel, and Mcbride...tell me what you think.

i can tell u the football in soccer is improving. they are getting more players in the epl and other english league. i heard a kid got signed to southhampton in the 2nd div league. theyre really improving. tho not ALL of them are have skill but just makin it on a teamand starting is a HUGE accomplishment. but when all the GREAT players move to the epl then mls loses there skill such as future man utd player i think FREDDY ADU. of course retiring players that want to finish off there football life will come like beckham. many others will come!!! americans will grow to hav better players but the best team they can go is Fulham which is great but not the BEST, until adu comes

Tim Howard's doing well as Everton's goalkeeper. He was on loan from Man U to Everton but as of 14 February 2007, he signed a five-year deal with the Toffees, making the move permanent with immediate effect.

See the link below to an article written in Sept 2006 that picked the following players as a starting 11 for an all-American-EPL team. When this article was written, Dempsey and Onyewu were still with MLS. In Jan 2007, Reyna left Man City to return to MLS with the New York Red Bulls.

Brad Friedel (Blackburn), Marcus Hahnemann (Reading), or Tim Howard (Everton); Carlos Bocanegra (Fulham), Jay DeMerit (Watford), Cory Gibbs (Charlton), Jonathan Spector (West Ham United); Bobby Convey (Reading), Claudio Reyna (Manchester City), DaMarcus Beasley (Manchester City); Giuseppe Rossi (Newcastle United), Johann Smith (Bolton Wanderers); and Brian McBride (Fulham).

I think it's awesome, no matter how well they do.

You forgot Tim Howard (Everton), Carlos Bocanegra (Fulham) and Clint Demspey (Fulham). Eddie Lewis plays with Leeds, but it's not in the EPL. Reyna is now back in the MLS with the Red Bulls.

Well, I've got Friedel and McBride in my Fantasy Football team but I don't rate the rest of them.
