1.Booting a process of operating system getting loaded onto the computer.
2. Debugging doing research and finding out the cause of the problem.
3. Turn Off : Actually switching off the computer but however now in windows xp turn off is nothing but shutdown.
4. shutdown: Gracefully end all the programs and switch off the computer power through the program itself..
5. log off: Just come out of the user in which the computer has been logged into and prompt for user name and password for re-logging.

Boot means
To load the first piece of software that starts a computer. Because the operating system is essential for running all other programs, it is usually the first piece of software loaded during the boot process.
Boot is short for bootstrap, which in olden days was a strap attached to the top of your boot that you could pull to help get your boot on. Hence, the expression "pull oneself up by the bootstraps." Similarly, bootstrap utilities help the computer get started.

Debugging Means
To find and remove errors (bugs) from a software program. Bugs occur in programs when a line of code or an instruction conflicts with other elements of the code.

Debugging refers to the process of finding and removing BUGS from your programm. This is done by expert programmer using various debugging tols.
turn off and shutdown is similar thing. Logging off means close the account of currently logged User .
