He is turning 26 and I thought I would get him a Betta fish. I have had one for a year now and I love it. He babysat mine when I went on vacation last summer and I think he really liked it. SHould I get him one of his own all set up with a tank for his birthday?

that's a good gift. if he can take care of the fish, then get him a plant, if he doesn't kill the plant, get him a dog, and if the dog does OK, then have kids! just kidding.

That's a rather odd gift for a guy, so I think I would go for something different. There are certain gifts that should be a joint decision and I think pets are one of them.
I would not, for example, go out and get an appliance for my wife's birthday unless we specifically discussed and agreed on it.

yes just don't put two beta together. you know that would be an awful gift. they are fighting fish just to warn you. sounds like a nice gift.
