Why does Heavy Metal get more criticism in the media than Pop or Rap or even Emo?

Question

Much of the media likes to damage heavy metal for reasons including violence and suicide and lyrics containing "subliminal messages". Yet, they don't attack pop/rap/emo artists when their messages are right in front of our noses. i wish i had an answer, but i don't. i'm avid fan of metal, it scary in a way and i've always hated pop, (c)rap, and emo, which i call "poser music". so if someone can give me the answer that would be great

because the media doesn't want to offend any one that may take it as a negative thing. socially More blacks listen to rap than rock, more women listen to Pop than guys, and EMO is about telling "whats real" (sarcasm there) I love Rock. I love metal and shred. i hate rap and pop and emo. but if they say negative things about snoop dog the NAACP is right there and then rev. al sharpton and jesse jackson if you say negative things about britney spears shes an unfit mother and a little girl in a bad place right now. but if you say bad things about Ozzie or johnathon davis or zack wylde, they don't have anyone except their fans to back them up. the truth is guys in Metal genres are just easier targets because they don't have some group that will boycot your newspaper or talk show or radio station if you say something negative.

beacuse metal stands aginst the mainstream.except for the glam bands in the 80s metal has never been mainstream.the emos and rappers are scared by the loud shear intensity of metal.fact is metal eats emo and rap alive.also pop isnt a kind of music its whats popular.They are all scared of us,afraid they will die in a mosh pit

I'd say it's because the media is weak just like rap, emo, and pop. They want to side with your mom and dad because those are their main audience. And typically the mothers and fathers are the ones buying the Kelly Pickler, AFI, Justin Timberlake, etc., etc., etc. CDs either for themselves or for their mindless drone teens and teenyboppers.

Think its because heavy metal bands tends to be seen as excessive in whatever they do (songs, looks, lifestyle) thereby their credibility or sincerity is questioned. For me, satanic imagery in songs is just artistic impression. Besides, they dont point a gun to your head and say bow down to the devil do they?

Just enjoy the music.

some i comprehend of.....they are black steel....yet sing in German Minas Morgul Nachtblut Riger Varg None of those bands sound some component like Rammstein, even however they do sing in German.
