to discipline or discharge an employee?

All should be written up and signed by the employee. Then it goes in the employee's personnel folder. This way, upon discharge there are reasons to back it up in case the employee sues.

i guess the laws of the state and city, and also take into account what the employee is being disciplined for. but if he owns the company, then he can do what he wants.
