my wrist is like cramping up or getting stift when I type and it hurts so I must stop for a few seconds and let it rest. What can be causeing it?? I'm 21 years old a female. Only thing that has changed in my life is when I had my baby but he's 7 months. Could it be cramping up something to do with holding him but why would it be just my right hand??? I'm right handed by the way. Any advise?

Carpal tunnel syndrome-- that is what the diagnosis is-- and you need to see your doctor to make sure you haven't developed it-- otherwise it is just a sprain and you will just need some nsaids- aleve, ibuprofen, etc and resting it and maybe even a wrap for it. See your doc, he'll do xrays and then you will get the right diagnosis and treatment......good luck

Could be Carpel Tunnel Syndrome. An inflammation of the tunnel of nerves going to your hands through your wrist. It's probably from picking up the baby a lot, or typing too much, or both. There are things you can do ergonomically to help. look it up on the web. Surgery is sometimes the only thing that will help.

Carpel Tunnel Syndrome

Classic textbook carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms are tingling and numbness in the thumb, index and middle finger (median nerve distribution), aching in the forearm which can radiate to the shoulder and clumsiness or weak grip. Only about one or two patients out of ten presents with a classic textbook carpal tunnel picture. Some present with tingling in all fingers while others present with tingling only in the thumb or the middle finger. Some present with aching and pain in the hand while others have radiating pain just medial to the back.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I get it too, as I'm often typing for long periods of time.

I remember when I took a keyboarding class and would type for long periods of time my wrists would get sore. But after a while it went away. You might want to invest in another keyboard. One that gives your wrists support. They don't cost too much more than your standard keyboard.
