I'm suppose to write a persuasive letter to my principal regardin a recommended speaker for an assembly. And of course, give reasons. S/he has to have a speech in some way that would benefit the student body with the talk. Soo any ideas who? Thanks! links if there are any!

I know that Black History Month is over, but I would choose to ask Ruby Bridges to be an assembly speaker. She was the first black child to attend an all-white school in New Orleans. Now New Orleans has a black mayor. See how things have changed in just half a century. She attended school accompanied by armed guards, and for most of the year was the only child in her class because no white parents would allow their children to be in class with her. Disney made a great movie about it, and you would find plenty of information doing a google search. Wouldn't you love to hear in her own words what that experience was like?
