You may want to peruse WebMD. http://www.webmd.com/search/search_results/default.aspx?sourceType=medline&query=hot%20flashes

Unfortunately they blame hot flashes on menopause, but hot flashes may be caused by insomnia, prostrate cancer, thyroid problems, cancer, extreme anxiety. What is disappointing is that the Mayo Clinic says that the causes of hot flashes are not understood. Both men and women suffer from them.

The hypothalamus can cause hot flashes also. it's a toss-up. You need to check in with your doctor. Some women have gone through menopause as early as 24. Good luck hope this helps.

The only things I can think of that would cause your periods to stop would be stress of weight loss. Go to your doctor!
