I am about to graduate in May. When is a good time to start applying for jobs. Most people are telling me now, while others are telling me to wait until april and some are telling me to wait until after I graduate...I need some advice.

ASAP. If you wait too long, you will have a lot of competition in the job market.

In my opinion if you haven't already started, you're too late. It's always best to start early. Many employers, depending on the field you are going in to, start interviewing in the fall. I've done two internships and both of them were from interviews that took place in the fall semester. If you wait until closer to your graduation date, you may not find anything you want right away which in turn will make you more likely to take the first offer that comes your way. If you start interviewing now and inform the potential employer of your plans to graduate soon, they will wait for you if they like you.

How about back in Fall semester. when the recruiters were starting to come on campus?

Use your college's connections with corporate recruiters to set up on-campus interviews. They have the resources you need to research potential employers, as well as help you design effective resumes and other job search skills.

Get going! And good luck.
