This is because the government would have to acknowledge the atrocious roots of American history. They would have to admit that these groups of people have a right to feel hurt. The government argues over providing a simple apology, we are years away from a monument (if ever). If a monument was built teachers would have to educate children when they took them on fieldtrips about these things. People in power can't stay in power if they allow such things to happen.
And sorry you had to have so many racist posts presented against you. It really is getting bad here, I tried to contact YA but they just keep ignoring the issue.

The Americans were the first to practice mass genocide on the Indians, and the first to use chemical warfare....US Grant provided the Indians blankets taken from smallpox hospitals, killing hundreds of thousands of Indians.
The USA won't build those types of memorials....because we'd have to admit we have a sad history.

Because the descendants of the slaves nor the Native Americans have even TRIED to get a memorial in Washington DC.
That involves collecting money, presenting a plan to three committees, purchasing land, building the memorial.
I will leave it up to you to figure out why they have never done it.

Because then the people of the government would have a physical representation of what their forbearers did and what they themselves should still be working to correct, but sweep under the carpet because if it's out of site then they don't have to think about it much...

They are not needed. Every time a black is charged with a crime the slavery issue is brought up again.
And there was never any indian genocide in Washington DC. It is mostly blacks killing blacks!

blacks are free now, and theyre all on welfare and dont have to work, so what are they complaining about?
as for the indians, they still have their reservations. In my hometown, indians scalped two little girls who were gathering water for their home. and they want a memorial? f*ck that.
