Ok I did some research on the topic real quick and I hate to say this but, you may have to stick to the plastic mask and halloween store costume for quite awhile. Apparently, the only genuine V masks ever sold that were actually made of anything other than plastic were 500 limited edition porcelain replicas of the actual mask distributed by the DC comic store that all came attached to a display base (so they were obsviously not intended for wearing) Have a look:
http://www.dccomics.com/dcdirect/?dcd=4363
At this point, they are completely sold out from DC's warehouse. However, dont completely lose hope! You may be able to find one from an independent collectible dealer (albeit it will be at a far higher price than the original $195.00 and you'd have to free it from it's base) and also DC said they may consider making more mask replica pieces because of the extremely high amount of interest they have been receiving from people wanting to have one. Perhaps if they do make a new piece, it will be somewhat wearable, so keep your eyes open. In addition, as of now, there is no replica V costume for sale anywhere, but DC also said they are looking into possibly creating one, again, because of so much inquiry about it. Hope that was of help!

RE:
Movie Costumes: What is the Guy Fawkes Mask made of?
I want to get a complete replica of the Guy Fawkes suit from "V for Vendetta" but everywhere I look online they just sell those cheap flimsy plastic ones. The one in the movie looks so much more detailed...Anywhere I can get an "official" suit. If not the whole thing, then at...

I was curious about these answers, being somewhat of an emotional guy. I get teary eyed when the scene is done right; realistic and familiar to something I understand or experienced. I'm quite disappointed in most the answers from the women. After all the trouble they've had with equality, guys not being sensitive enough, or undrstanding them, the hypocrisy is yet again on full strength from some of you. "Awkward" because you might also be crying? WTF? That means he gets it moron! "Shouldn't waste tears on people paid to make you emotional"? Probably the stupidest answer yet. Are you confusing "emotional" with "weakness" as so many people have before? I may cry over a film but I gaurantee I can also beat the crap out of most people. You're supposed to get emotional!! Guys shouldn't stereotype women into a role, and women shouldn't do the same to men. If they cry, chances are you found a good man.

I would actually say some sort of metal was used for the mask in the movie, because it looked more heavy duty than plastic. I know in the movie we're supposed to believe that it is made of steel or something, because someone tried to punch V in the face, and it hurt his hand.
As far as finding something, look through this stuff here:
http://froogle.google.com/froogle?q=V+for+vendetta+costume&hl=en&client=safari&rls=en-us&um=1&sa=X&oi=froogle&ct=title
Also, try a search on Ebay, I'm sure there is something there.
Good luck!!!
