Um...you're not very clear. Dickens uses imagery and metaphors a lot. Example, when Gaspard writes blood on the wall in wine, it exemplefies the fact that wine symbolises blood, so that later in the book, when Dickens says that the sky was the colour of wine, he's foreshadowing. Also, when the man (somewhere near the middle of the book) chews on his fingers, it shows his thirst for blood, and shows that the people want rebellion. Dickens did a really good job with that book, but again, your question was vague. If you need any more help don't hesitate to email elrondluvr@netscape.net. I can find some more specific bits with actual quotes, I just don't know what kind of language you're looking for.
