American Blacks are decendents of Africans and Whites. The African slave women were impregnated by white slave owners either voluntarly or involuntarly. That produced a Mulato, named after Mule, which many thought incorrectly was a sterile human being. So as time passed, Afro-Euro's mixed with more whites and Afro-Euro's and that today is the so called African-American who is on average 21% white genetically.
Like it or not that is how it is. Your comments please no race bias please.

I always thought it was stupid to assume that All African-Americans have white blood. And since everyone is mixed, doesn't that mean whites have Black blood, too? Let's not forget those Black slaves who could pass for white.

Yes, you are very correct.
So called AfricanAmerican = AfricanBlack + EuropeanWhite and that surely equals as you say:
Afro-Euro or African-European which is very correctly stated.
Are you a Phd in Sociology? You are very intellegent person.

That's true I'm from puerto rico and that was the norm, but it happend with the british in the states aswell. Though the word mulatto I was taught came from muwallad which is arabic for biracial.
