Neither school has a very strong reputation outside its geographic region. Think about where you want to live and work and try to go to a school in that area. Most people in Mississippi will not have heard of UNH and will hire MSU people over you as a result.

Very generic question. You should have included your major and other details that would have helped answer this better. Mississippi State Univ has some good programs. Research the department you are interested in at both the places and feel free to post question if you still have a doubt.

Depends on you. Buy (or use the library) and get one of those guide to college magazines that US News or Kaplan publishes.
