Law and Order Criminal Intent is one of the most unique crime dramas among the many choices offered in prime time television. In this essay, I’m going to compare other Law and Order series from Criminal Intent, how it differs from the newer series: CSI, and the famous “Goren and Eames” Chemistry! Law and Order Criminal Intent differs in a variety of ways from other Law and Order shows such as Special Victims Unit, Trial By Jury, and the original Law and Order. This show presents the story from the criminal’s point of view, which is beneficial to viewers as they get a closer look as to the criminal’s psychology and why these crimes were committed, whereas other series often focus more on the arraignment and prosecution of the delinquents. Secondly, Criminal Intent and CSI rarely have anything in common. Producers say that since CSI premiered, it has divided the public into two types of viewers: ones that enjoy graphical details, and ones that enjoy psychological details.

That is the enormous difference between the two well-known shows with over fifteen million viewers each! Another aspect that I enjoy about Criminal Intent is that it focuses on one crime at a time, unlike CSI, which solves two crimes that are generally not interconnected.

Lastly, even though the show has a great concept, it would be nothing without the extraordinary chemistry between Goren (Vincent D’Onofrio) and Eames (Kathryn Erbe)! Goren is the mastermind, who unmasks the criminal and is also valued for his instincts and insights, but without Eames he would remain incomplete. Eames provides excelled moral support and is known to be a no-nonsense cop who is also very independent. During season five we learnt that the couple had problems getting along when they were first paired up, but over the years they discovered that they make the perfect combo, although their relationship is strictly professional the viewers are soon noticing more intimacy between them, and predict that they

might be the next big couple! In conclusion, Law and Order Criminal Intent is a magnificent show that doesn’t focus only on the capture and prosecution of the malefactors, but also demonstrates the criminals planning, executing, and occasionally covering up their crimes. It is also praised for its in-depth understanding of the criminal mind, and there isn’t a pair of detectives better than Goren and Eames who keep viewers guessing until the end.

I like it. I am a fan and long time viewer of 6 of the shows. Law and Order, SVU, CI, CSI, CSI:Miami, and CSI: NY. I like all of them. Basically for the reasons you listed. Each show is different. There are different styles of solving the same type of crimes displayed in the 3 CSI's and as you said, the chemistry of the partners in the L and O shows. I guess SVU and Miami would be my two favorites. I like Benson and Stabler, they work well off each other. I also like the idea of justice for victims of sex crimes. Miami because I like Horatio Caine. Just the way he does things and that little smile/smirk of his. Back to your topic. Good essay.
