Don't want to have to take it back, you know what i mean. I haven't bought one in 8 years, and I'm sure a lot has changed.

I do not print photographs, if that matters. Unless the paper/ink is more reasonable than it used to be? I can print single pix at Walgreens for $.15 each, anytime.

Stick with a canon. The main thing to consider is the cost of cartridges. Most modern printers have acceptable quality and they really make thier profits from selling the cartridges. (much like cameras and film) I have a Canon 5 in 1 and order my cartridges from Amazon and have been very satisfyed.

I do the same thing as you. Print photos at the drug store, why spend money maintaining an ink jet money pit? My HP 1020 is a basic b&w laser printer, no frills for about $120. Fast!

Do you need color,or black&white? I have a Samsung ML-1740 that's worked great for me. It's a B&W laser, and it's much faster than those cheap color ink jet printers.
